PROJECT / 002STREET FOOD BRAND

ZEILAFOOD.COM
01Context
Zeila is a new street food trailer in Kista mixing Somali flavours with street food: bowls, subs and loaded mac, 100 % halal. Before opening day there are no reviews or photos yet, so the website has to build curiosity and tell people where and when to show up.
02My role
Design and development of the website, from visual direction and layout to build, bilingual content and launch.
03Process
- Letting the hand-drawn wordmark lead, with strong colour blocks for each section.
- A countdown to opening day as the main hook, with address and social links right below.
- Placing location and opening hours early, since a trailer is only useful if you can find it.
- Menu cards designed to work now with placeholders and later with real photos.
- A click-to-reveal “drop” card and a TikTok section to give people a reason to follow along.
- Swedish and English content with a language switch.

04Outcome
A live launch site at zeilafood.com, ready for opening day and built to grow with photos, videos and new seasonal drops.
05What I learned
- A brand with a strong voice needs a site that dares to be just as loud.
- Design for the empty state: before launch, placeholders are the content.
